What are we looking for?

The HR Manager role is responsible for implementing national Human Resource policies, procedures, and practices, including HR compliance and recruiting functions as directed by the Human Resource Director. The HR Manager works with partners to determine development needs of office personnel, oversees coordination of local office training, drives and/or delivers leadership training in the office and participates in recruiting efforts, new hire orientation, performance management, retention practices, employee issues, and general personnel programs. The HR Manager serves as a key member of the Human Resources infrastructure to support the goals and objectives of Global Human Resources.

What are the main responsibilities & tasks?

The HR Manager will have the following responsibilities:

Manage and oversee the Human Resource policies and procedures for the local NY office

Communicate regularly with upper level management on all applicable HR and staffing matters

Work with Professional Employer Organization (PEO) regarding the processing of payroll and administration of Health and Employee Benefits and 401(k) plan; ensure benefits and payroll inquiries are answered by the PEO in a timely manner

Oversee compliance with employment law and EEOC regulations

Oversee and handle employee relations issues in a timely and effective manner

Oversee and facilitate the performance appraisal and evaluation process

Oversee new hire orientation, new hire processes, and in-house training as necessary

Oversee the compensation review process and evaluation process for the local office

Manage employee retention and engagement programs (incl team building events)

Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict confidentiality in matters that require discretion

Attend professional development and training sessions on a regular basis

Perform other job-related duties as necessary

What kind of profile do we need?

Key Requirements and Skills:

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field: (PHP or SPHR) a plus

6 to 8 years of broad-based HR generalist or HR management experience including the implementation of strategic HR plans and policies

Autonomous and able to work under little supervision

Strong employee relations/communication skills

Must be able to adhere to strict confidentiality

Must maintain a high level of professionalism both in actions and appearance

Excellent oral and written communication skill with the ability to work with individuals at all levels in the organization

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced dynamic environment

Ability to manage and prioritize conflicting demands and work autonomously

Ability to analyze data and develop recommendations

Team player with strong, positive attitude toward internal and external customers

Ability to manage and help drive change and focus on continuous service improvement

Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Outlook and Excel

Must be willing to travel as needed

Must have a solid understanding of New York Labor Law
